Passkeys give you a faster and more secure way to sign in to your Limited account. Instead of waiting for a verification code every time, you can simply confirm it's you using your device, and you're in. You can create more than one passkey, rename them, and remove the ones you no longer need, all from your Settings.
What Is a Passkey?
A passkey is a sign-in method that lives on your device or with your chosen passkey provider. It lets you log in without waiting for an SMS code, using the same method you use to unlock your device.
A few things worth knowing:
- Passkeys are an addition, not a replacement. Your phone number and SMS verification code (OTP) will always work as a way to sign in.
- You can have multiple passkeys on the same account, for example one on your laptop and one on your phone.
- Each passkey is tied to the device or provider it was created on.
Creating Your First Passkey
The easiest way to set up a passkey is right after you sign in.
- Sign in to Limited with your phone number and the verification code (OTP) sent to you by SMS.
- After a successful sign-in, you'll be prompted to create a passkey.
- Select Create Passkey.
- Choose your preferred method, such as your browser, a QR code scanned with your phone, or another available provider.
- Follow the on-screen steps to finish setting it up.
Once it's set up, you can use your passkey to sign in on that device going forward.
Tip: Didn't see the prompt? No problem. You're already signed in, and you can add a passkey at any time from your Settings (see below).
Adding Another Passkey
Want to sign in from a different device? You can add as many passkeys as you need.
- Sign in to your account.
- Go to Settings → Login & Security → Passkeys.
- Select Add a Passkey.
- Enter the verification code (OTP) we send you by SMS to confirm it's you.
- Choose your preferred method and follow the on-screen steps to complete the setup.
Viewing and Renaming Your Passkeys
Your Passkeys page lists every passkey on your account. Giving each one a clear name, such as "Work laptop" or "Personal phone", makes it easy to tell them apart.
- Go to Settings → Login & Security → Passkeys.
- Find the passkey you'd like to update.
- Select the three dots next to it, click Rename, and save your new name.
Removing a Passkey
If you no longer use a device, or you'd like to clean up your list, you can remove a passkey at any time.
- Go to Settings → Login & Security → Passkeys.
- Find the passkey you'd like to remove.
- Select the three dots next to it, click Remove, and confirm.
Removing a passkey only affects that specific passkey. Your account, your other passkeys, and your SMS sign-in are not affected.
